Yes, it does take time and numerous attempts. I had to revert back once after Failing Barren Shield without immortality. I was able to pickup 3 lives for a cushion when I dropped back a few levels. I did not use them and resisted the temptation when I returned to Barren Shield because I wanted them for the last level.
Ended up completing Dark Vortex with my 3 lives intact. The game loads colors at random, there is NO pattern, randomly changes the colors in your slinger, pulls your slinger off the board prematurely and some of the power-ups cause premature clearing of the board. Those are the challenges of an erratic quest but the journey is great fun. Its weakness in coding skills become its inadvertent strength in challenging play.
I bought this game years ago, and I continue to return to it. It is always challenging. It is pretty. It CAN be done, which makes me much less willing to play games I have to keep paying for. I live in Vegas. If I want to waste money on a game, I can find better ways to do it at the corner grocery store.

As in all marble shooting games, the aim in Sparkle HD is to shoot colored marbles in the midst of a moving line of similar marbles. You must reduce that string of ever increasing marbles to zero before it reaches the end point -usually plunging in a hole, which means game over- This is achieved by just tapping the point you want to hit with the specific colored marble coming out of one or more devices.
You always get a hint of what color is going to come out. Your goal is to place each new marble next or in the middle of color matching marbles in the moving line. Sometimes the line will slow down or stop to throw you off your game, it may even reverse with some power-ups tricky ones but they can be useful when you are literally at the end of your rope! Each time you add a marble to a similar group of marbles of 2 or more, it erases the group.
The larger that group is, the more rewards you get. You collect power-ups each time you erase marbles 3 times in a row. In this game, power-ups have a short life span and have to be shot in order to take effect one time use for each appearance. Sometimes you have to give them up because of their hard to reach position. Each time your aim fails, instead of shrinking your line you are making it longer and success will be that much harder to reach. The music of Sparkle HD is rather special and the graphics are top notch.
This game used to have a couple of impassable levels but over the last updates it has been simplified on the easy mode so that everyone with a little patience can finish the game.
There is a nice story thread, just light enough not to interfere with the game. The strategy of the series comes in the form of powerups, which you gain after making 3 matches in a row. Powerups are random and vary from a fire shooter that destroys nearby orbs to joker orbs that allow you to make matches between different colors.
This is a picture of Sparkle 2. Notice how similar it is to the PC gameplay in the embedded video above. The PC version of the game is rarer, only being available for purchase on Amazon and through Big Fish Games who mandate their client to download games, it being one of the worst digital download programs currently in existence , but it at least has the decency to run at Sadly, it also runs at a drastically lowered resolution, something like x or x Putting that ugliness aside, however, the Sparkle series boasts some really appealing art, with the orbs and everything looking incredibly professional and suiting the game well.
